Lost Pride

I listen to my heart, I know the the ears are listening
I probe my soul, I still don’t know what it’s yearning
I don’t know much, but I know I can make it
That may be all I need to know, I have a dream.
I look at my eyes reflected in the mirror,
They’ve seen what it matters so far yet wants to see more
I look at my dreams, so beaten and shattered
That may be all I need to know, I have a dream.
So many questions but still left unanswered
So much I have wanted in life yet so elusive
Sometimes when I get close to through
The only truth I have known clearly
That may be all I need to know, I have a dream.
Sometimes I boast, so blessed with inspiration
Sometimes I hate my soul, still searching for vision
Sometimes I don’t know, I forget benediction
Sometimes I do know, I have a dream.
I don’t know much, except that I know
That may be all I need to know
I have a dream, yes I can
Ever my pride is lost, still searching for recognition
All I need to know, I have a dream.

  1. I wrote this feeling so let down… three publishers had already turned down my manuscript submissions without telling me why… I just wonder, must I have lots and losts of money to be given a chance in life?
